1. Parents are responsible for seeing that their
child attends class regularly and arrives to school on-time.
2. The classes offered through H.O.P.E. are classes
to assist parents. These classes are not to replace your home
school involvement or responsibilities. You as the parent need to
oversee students during the week to be sure they are keeping up with
their expected studies.
3. The class is usually a lecture or lab. Be
aware of their lesson plans and any necessary materials for their class.
4. Keep in contact with the instructor/tutor.
One or two missed assignments can affect their grade and sometimes
become almost impossible to make up.
5. Your involvement will make your child that much
more successful academically.
6. As the parent, you are responsible for your
child’s conduct, dress, promptness, attitude and respectful behavior.
Parents are encouraged to visit their student’s class to observe or
assist the instructor/tutor (at least once a semester). Please
confer with the instructor/tutor to make these arrangements. AGAIN
PLEASE REMEMBER!!!! This is not a replacement for formal
education; you are the teacher.
7. The parent is responsible for student’s homework being
checked for completeness, neatness and timeliness. Any deviation
from the assignments given by the instructor/tutor require your
attention and intervention.
